Been on the dole for 7 month after finishing university, searching for a job, but never getting anything.
So no, I'm not happy.

Student, got a part time job in Krispy Kreme, Scotlands first and ONLY Krispy Kreme! HURRAH! I work on opening day
ive reached the point where ive learned all i can in the current work/voluntary situation.
due to it being voluntary and council based, theres all sorts of liability and insurance and things that i just cant do because of even a tiny risk i might hurt myself.
i do similair things at home in my shed with nary a care in the world. i just cant do them at work because of elf safety nonsense.
still at least i learned all about motor magnet polarity on a 4 motor brush 24v dc motor. took a while convincing the boss to let me even think about taking it apart though.
and i learned to mark where the motor case joins to the brush holder and onto the motor brake.
if you get it wrong, the motor goes backwards.
good job the scooter was up on blocks, or therell be another hole in the plasterboard wall.
i need to look into getting a proper job, or even better qualifications, theres an open evening at the local college on the 4th feb, i'll try to pop along
happy for the most part! it's not the job you do it's all about the people you work with! IMO
Just before my probation review in my current job, I was just given a pay rise that I hadn't even dropped any kind of hints I was after.
I have a love/hate relationship with my job though. Love the people, love most of the work, at times hate the silly hours that I put in for free despite specifically asking at interview what the deal with extra hours was and getting a good answer that turned out to be false.
The problem is now that I can't leave as I won't leave until the IT infrastructure is sorted and my team is built.

What Job ?
Not quite happy

I feel for you, Oilsheikh, because been more or less there, and done pretty much that. It's why I went self-employed nearly 30 years ago.
But one thing .... you believed the old "bonus promised at interview" trick? That's how Noah got the first mate for his Ark! It's the recruitment version of "this order is a sample. If we like it, we'll order much more next time".
Never, EVER believe that kind of interview promise, unless they'll put it in writing, complete with any conditions, in the offer letter. If they won't do that, ask yourself, why not, if they mean it?
That doesn't mean don't take the job, just discount and ignore any and all such 'jam in the future' comments. That way, if it doesn't happen, you don't resent it as you didn't believe it, and if by chance it does happen, it's an unexpected and pleasant surprise.
Not really.
The hours are long leaving little time for anything else.
I'm pretty happy in my current job, although I don't really have any kind of job security here. When you see the budgets for the year and there's no money allocated for you past April it's time to start looking for something else. I'm a contractor and my contract ends in April so it's no as bad as it sounds, but still was hoping for a renewal.
I've been getting quite a lot of contact via agencies about jobs in central Europe, so maybe I'll end up there for the 2nd half of this year. I might as well do it now while I'm young and have no responsibilities other than myself! Plus the pay is double what I'm getting now.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.
Actually really hard to reply to this topic without descending into an epic rant... But here goes:
Am i happy? - 100% no
I've allready had what was close to my dream job twice now: Love IT Helpdesk work to bits.
But i've been less than lucky holding a job though:
First job got sabotaged by Barclaycard buying out the UK arm of Providian Bank i was working for. To cut a long story short i was the lowest paid person in the building (below the cleaners) then they tried to blackmail me into working extra hours to get the pay rise they'd withheld for over a year. Left in disgust.
Eventually got a new IT job with the local council. A year later tories get elected, i'm the newest hire so got made redundant first.
I'm hopeless with interviews so i'm epically outclassed for getting an IT job again, add in the fact the UK is flooded with unemployed better at interviews than me i'm screwed...
Am now stuck in a soul-destroyingly dull warehouse job and frankly have just given up...
*sigh* pretty ranty still :/
I don't have a job so far but fear I'm going to hate it ):
Same, except not on the dole, living in my moms basement. They said get a degree in CS! Do an internship, know the design patterns / algorithms, know a couple languages, instant 80k a year! They missed the part where 99% of companies hire out of targeted universities, and I went to a small school that didn't get targeted by big companies, so I can't get a leg in anywhere.
I've been doing freelance IT and web development though and made a couple grand off that. So it isn't that awful.
