Well, that's speculation for you. I would much rather wait a few extra months than have it released full of bugs as a cash cow and listen to people slag them off until September and beyond.

I am also behind the Rockstar Games decision. I have bought too many games that have been rushed and have suffered badly from this. I would rather buy a fully working finished product that purchase a Beta that has yet to be finished!

This is going to be a make it or break it game for the GTA franchise.
This will obviously release and break records worldwide but I'm looking to see whether it can actual create the same feeling that I got when moving from GTA III to Vice City to SA. GTA IV felt like a step backwards, so this will definitely have something to prove for real gamers.
IT will be amazing no doubt about it. if they need to refine it good for them, I'am sure that the finished product will look great any way .
Hmmm I was a fan of the series but I bought GTA4, played it for a couple of hours, and never picked it up again.
For me it just started to feel a bit stale. The environment Rockstar created was remarkable but the gameplay was boring IMO - drive for 5mins to this spot, shoot this guy then go back to the guy who told you to shoot that guy. Might as well have been delivering mail (in fact weren't there missions where that's exactly what you were doing?). The innumerable user created clips of people beating hookers to death etc didn't endear it to me either. Maybe I'm just getting old
Hopefully they've done something to freshen up GTA5.
EDIT: the one high point of GTA4 for me is the music they have included has been spectacularly good. The soul/funk radio station was a particular favourite.

Not ready... Me no thinks so. This is a blatant delay until next gen consoles are released. They can't have fallen this far behind this close to previous release date efforts. If this is not the case then something has gone very wrong. More likely that the dev kits for the new consoles require a little tweak to the code.
On the other hand this will be a really polished game when it comes out.
can't wait, hope they will make the world much bigger.
