Still looks as awkward and uncomfortable to hold as the current controller. Though it does look a bit fatter where the palms of the hands would sit.
I personally don't like the thumb sticks being side by side, as it makes the hand hold it like a claw and thus get a real grip on the thing.
I believe that the Xbox 360 controller is the finest, comfortablest controller ever made. Shame Sony can't simply rip-off the design for that. They'd be onto a winner :)
I can see a touch pad getting very irritating, very quickly. Especially if every game starts to integrate it as some woeful mini-game, a bit like the Sixaxis on the PS3.
Integrated voice comms and move wouldn't surprise me too much though.
Not exactly revolutionary! The integrated voice looks useful but the touch pad area looks like a gimmick :S The port looks like headphone possibly. Assuming it's real, I'd hope there is still some refinement in the works.
Anyone else seeing the likeness to the Ouya controler ? wonder how long it'll take for someone to claim patents on the touchpad and take the other to court..
Looks terrible, as Lord said the Xbox 360 controller is extremely comfortable to use and I loved the xbox controllers when they released the small versions, playstation controllers always were horrible for me and I couldnt use the analog sticks as they were in an awkward position so used the d pad on the ps1 then most games started requiring the use on the stick so gave up then haha.
Sony needs to get new blood into their hardware team, seems they arent really innovating...
Sorry but no.
The original controller was really uncomfortable compared to the 360 pad, the analog sticks are in a really weird place. The 360 pad is like...made to be held, I don't know anyone who prefers a PS gamepad to a 360.
Also ha touchpad? useless.
I have only ever tryed a fat xbox original controller and I didn't like that. I have a ps1 ps2 and ps3 and I really like their controllers. I like nintendo controllers as well.
It looks like it may be a USB controller but I don't think the wire is removable looking at that pic.
I think the looks of it are more similar to the cheap 3rd party controllers you can already get if I'm honest (and as a result not great)
Personally not had too many issues using their controllers, not particularly less comfortable than any of their competitors.
I don't understand why people are complaining about the PS controller's layout. It is at the right place , underneath both your thumbs. Ergonomically, very good.
I actually preferred the PS3 prototype.

It looks a bit too bulky....shades on the XBox 1 controller to some degree.
Both the PS3 and XBox 360 controllers were extremely good. Why change a winning design? :S
Sony actually had it right with the boomerang controller when it came to ergonomics, but hardcore fans, myself included, daftly complained and they reverted, we ruined the chances of a more comfortable controller ourselves. When I held the 360 controller I realised my mistake!
