I don't think you have to pay them yet, you just get a reservation printed on a receipt I think, at least that's how it's worked in the past.

They want £20 off you...

Ah right. Suppose it stops a ton of people preordering it then buying it from elsewhere, leaving them with a ton of unsold stock they can't shift until the preorder expires. £20 probably ensures you wouldn't be saving anything by going elsewhere i.e. it's not likely to be more than £20 cheaper elsewhere on release.
Yeah, I did try to 'Register an Interest', but the site's rubbish, so I guess I'll register somewhere else.
My qualms are about giving my money to a company which very nearly hit the wall, and may not be out of the woods yet. I imagine deposits left for upcoming consoles are way down the administrator's list when it comes to getting paid back...
Yeah, preorders for software is normally free, although they have taken deposits for limited edition stuff.
I'm in the same boat as Smudger though - I'd be apprehensive about giving game preorder money. I worked there for 5 years and you wouldn't believe how bad some of the people at the top were. Unless the entire layer of clueless muppets has been removed, they'll be in trouble again at some point.

AMD's VCE finally getting some use? Maybe we'll eventually get to see some PC software taking advantage of it?Sony referenced dedicated video encode/decode hardware that allows you to instantaneously record and share screenshots/video of gameplay. I suspect this same hardware is used in streaming your game to a PS Vita.
Although in the realms of fantasy I am hoping that it will be a steamroller based cpu. Probably impossible but I would like to think that's why amd have had to delay it's pc introduction.
It's already been confirmed in a Sony PDF it's an 8 core Jaguar. http://forums.hexus.net/cpus/241925-...ml#post2830025
Had a slight double take then.
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
It's a possibility.
Nothing too shocking in the announcement. I'll still be waiting until nearer the release to decide whether to give it a try.
watchdogs was running on a PC - since the final spec was changed from 4 > 8 gb with most devs not knowing ,they couldnt port it over properly in time
