Because the CPU uses the x86 instruction set? There's a heck of a lot more to it than that. What are you getting at exactly, as you appear to be doing little more than thread trolling?

Besides, 'step improvements' in computing power is exactly how you get more from technology these days. We don't don't really do dedicated hardware for specific functions anymore. We have GPUs for offloading parallel tasks and a handful of CPU cores for serialised jobs. The more memory in the machine, the more complex models we can compute. I don't see a problem with 'mere step improvements' because that's exactly what innovation is, console (and therefore PC) graphics will improve greatly with this new machine.

again lol? as you said `maybe im getting too old` , well yes quite frankly you are. especially by directly comparing the abilities of an xbox 1 to next gen. you do ofc realise the original xbox is over 12 years old now? nothing new for the PS4? games are driven by what people want = the same 392 MILLION GMAES SOLD drive the market - and if its a new IP that fails ; as has been done many times , then its dropped. No one will continue to develope a title when no one buys it.

you do understand this? this is a market driven economy not communism

Why do you people keep comparing PC's to consoles, a console should be compared WITH a console, not with a PC which is of course ahead.

After all consoles are home entertainment systems, nothing else for me.
