I know that about 10MP the lens and sensor size are what matter more, but this is probably still going to help sales as it'll allow a bunch of new SKUs.
So people still fall for the megapixel boondoggle? To think what they could do with this technology, and they waste it on this...
That sounds like they've improved dynamic range - but no mention of low-light performance. Really it's time pixel binning was routinely introduced.“Continued advances in the resolution offered by compact digital cameras - now in the range of 10 to 16MP - have brought with them the challenge of improving performance and picture quality with smaller pixels. The TCM5115CL does just this by achieving a 15% improvement in full well capacity - the amount of charge an individual pixel can hold before saturating-against Toshiba's previous generation 16MP sensor (pixel size = 1.34μm)”.
Somehow 'backside illumination' just sounds awfully wrong.... I might be the only odd one out though...
Me want Ultrabook
