Re: Features - AMD spills details on mainstream Richland APUs
TBH,you could always get,one of the cheaper coolers, and attach a better fan to it anyway. I have an old Noctua 92MM fan, which I might replace the Xigmatek fan with.
Edit!!
This Chinese site tested the LD963:

I wonder if that will work in my parents ITX S775 Zotac 9300 HTPC.... worth a punt i guess
Re: Features - AMD spills details on mainstream Richland APUs
I put up some pictures in my previous post. The LD964 is the version I have with a noisier fan. The LD963 is the later version with a quieter fan.
Amazon are out of stock of the LD963 ATM:

However, the LD964 can be had for £12.99 from PC World:

I have that mobo in my HTPC. It's in a shoebox case (SilverStone SG05) and I'm actually cooling it with a Corsair H60 now (but only because it was free - too expensive for a basic HTPC). Before the H60 I used various low profile CPU coolers and found that the chipset was creating a lot of heat - the CPU wasn't too bad in itself. I ended up using duct tape to secure an old (and happily fairly quiet) 50mm fan onto the chipset heatsink.

It's rather clear that some of these new features were inspired by work done with Sony for the PS4! A good preview of what to expect.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss he's just put on a different coat

It's probably livable with long term for most people, but it's far from desirable.
Incidentally, that same cooler is now sat on my 65W Phenom II and doing a much quieter job of keeping that under control in an even worse case for cooling. It's a long way from the best cooler on the planet, but it isn't as bad as a lot of people make out...

The cooler was OK in my Antec ATX case, and I even used the A6 3670K with my HD5850 1GB at a LAN too. I didn't know it was OK in a smaller case. I do wonder if simply getting a better fan would be a cheaper way of improving the noise though??!!
