I have no idea.......
The Hard disk compatibility list wasn't up to date either so I had to but a 2tb WD red disk instead of the 3tb only to find a pdf that was the updated compatibility...I'm not a happy bunny

Lower power, less fan noise and smaller units.
Ie better in almost all ways.

As per abaxas' reasoning, they're great. Also, purpose-built low spec PCs don't come with an OS, and the unix solutions can be a real pain in the neck... impossible for average Joe.
Besides, at £150~ for a 2-bay, no homebuild is going be appreciably cheaper.

I'd hold off buying one if I were anyone considering...I'm going to return mine as faulty (sadly)

Yeah, I should have added "Excluding those with catastrophic flaws" :)

All nas Hd compatibility lists are out of date.
Even QNAP's.

Fair enough, so they're all sloppy :-)
Re: News - Netgear launches new 'ease of use' focused ReadyNAS products
This is still an issue, unresolved. no ETA for a fix.
