    I don't think that's necessarily the case. The market for desktop Macs is pretty minute compared to the desktop PC, to start with. Secondly, Macs are positioned as a 'luxury brand', so it's probably a case of Sapphire pricing the card at a level the market will bear; if you can afford a Mac Pro, you can afford the 60% price hike

    Presumably it's possible to just get the Mac bios and put it on a standard card for a 60% saving.
    That is exactly what many if not most Mac users interested in this card will do. Some don't even wait for official cards to come out but hack their own bios.
