Is this a Windows8 Service Pack or something more? And have they done anything to address the usability concerns that even the Windows8 loyalists have come up with?Quote:
From what we have seen so far there are quite a few significant changes, improvements even, especially to the UI and customisation options.
I have a copy of win 8 sat on my desk waiting for me to take the plunge... been there for months.
Just really don't have the urge to take the plunge into something i'm still uncertain about.
Is there a start menu? Otherwise my Win8 shall remain in the drawer as well.
Soluto FTW
Wouldn't surprise me if this turned into DLC.
Do they have a folder option for tiles yet ?
These changes are good news, but it's pretty basic stuff so far. Still hoping for at least one or two genuine surpises from Blue... and no, I don't mean the re-introduction of the Start button! I personally took all of 5 minutes to adjust to not having it - but then I never used it all that much to begin with.
Looks good, liking the 50/50 window split and the tile updates. That's all good for the tablet, I rolled back to Win7 on the PC since one of the windows updates bricks the install... :\ Really would like this to be a comprehensive SP1 not just the glossy marketing BS.
Finally there is actually changes in the works :D, I liked the idea of side by side but they failed so hard that you could only occupy 1/4 of the screen or nothing at all! And tiles need more customisation, Microsoft has listened to me rofl.
I love Windows 8, theres a few niggles but its better than Windows 7 and this start menu is better than the old one on the basis that I like a "app" launcher than a tiny little 6 program shortlist. I still hope Windows 9 switches alot of dev work onto the PC side of it though, would make it even better.
It would be nice if they could make the metro 'scale' and utilise the side by side feature so that the new system could satisfy both traditional people (like me) who don't like to be taken away from their desktop completely and everyone else who like the new system.
Yup thats true biscuit, if they did that I would assume 99% over windows users will love the latest windows :).
I would buy Windows 8 or Windows Blue if there was simply an option when installing it that lets you either decide whether or not you even want the Metro interface installed.
