I like how the boost is not compared to the 314.21 drivers, but the earlier 314.07 ones instead for TR!! :P
The 314.21 drivers were the ones which helped TR performance the most (together with a patch from CD).
I like how the new drivers can boost your performance in a game by up to 41% when the game hasn't been released yet! 41% of nothing is still nothing iirc ;)
Me :D Actually I got my Steam code from AMD on Sunday and managed to download something (10gig's worth anyway), but I'm sure I saw a message about not being able to play it until today.Quote:
Meanwhile many folk who bought an AMD HD 78xx or 79xx card since 22nd January 2013 will be happily downloading their free copy of BioShock Infinite after midnight. Many new AMD HD 7XXX Radeon buyers will also qualify for the above mentioned Tomb Raider for free as well (not forgetting the TressFX hair enhancements).
Bioshock, like Mass Effect, is one of those games that everyone else seems to rave about which I've somehow managed to miss out on. To be brutal the mechanics of the game (or at least "as advertised") didn't appeal.
And I'm not exactly filled with enthusiasm that my fellow Hexus-dwellers seem more interested in the new NVidia driver than the release of the game ... is the game really that bad?
im looking forward to the game, just done have a lot of interest in bollocks Nvidia marketing!
I had complete faith in the game, and my early pre-order with GMG has been repaid. Especially since I got 3 free games with it.
Got mine already just waiting for it to be unlocked at midnight. Time to see how it performs on my Titan!
Wow, 96/100 for the PC version on metacritic... i gots to get this!
Thank God I finally got GMG to take my damn money after about 4 days of trying!
I had a go last night and the design of the game looks really nice. I had some crashes with my HD5850 1GB,but realised I was using Beta drivers,so used the latest offical release and so far,so good. Also, the Steam achievements only started appearing on the game page, something like at 1AM or 1.30AM,not at midnight.
At 1680X1050,my HD5850 1GB seems playable for me at Ultra settings with AA. I turned the DOF setings down.
