RPS summed it up nicely:

No thanks.
Looks good
Oooo. Does this mean that the campaign won't just be a "training ground" for multiplayer? If it's a proper game in itself then here's one BF3 owner that will definitely putting in a BF4 pre-order. Although I think I'll be doing it via my local Gamestation/Game store.Quote:
EA say that the single player game will contain “huge environments, a playground of destruction, access to an arsenal of vehicles and the ability to direct squad mates”, with multi-player game design elements incorporated into the single player gameplay.
Being controversial (perhaps) I thought that the BF3 single player was better than the equivalent in the latest CoD - at least on the PC at any rate. :)
Already done my video card (GF460->7970), but I'm wondering if I can use BF4 as a "justification" (cough, cough) to switch from my current hexcore PhenomII to an i7 (IB or Haswell). After all my 3DMark figures seem to show that I'm a little light on cpu power. ;)
EDIT: Just watched that 17 minute trailer - if the gameplay portions are representative (i.e. not carefully chosen and equally carefully edited together) then BF4 looks to be very special indeed. Particularly like the destructible cover!
The squad-command thing looks interesting as far as squad commands can be.
BF was one of the first games to use multicores so efficiently. in many cases it runs better on a cheaper AMD chip, than the equivalent intel.
Most certainly, not the game to switch from AMD for!
Will have to wait a few hours to watch the trailer.....but since when did a trailer 6+ months in advance of release really end up looking like the finished product?
Looks nice, but I will wait for the premium pack/ offer
RPS...Stewart Lee fans :)
Because it is just another EA hate article (arguably justified) with his own rudimentary points glued to it. He signs off by saying: "But beyond that, I have nothing useful to report about the game". Well good, given you haven't played it and have been served the same 17 minutes as everyone else, in fact, what do you have to report beyond some salty paragraphs?
Of course, there isn't much to report too. Everyone knows that, but then every man and his dog has already separated the wheat from the chaff in their mind and isn't remotely bothered beyond "where is our MP Dice!!1?!?!11111". Let's ignore for a moment EA/Dice had already eluded to following convention and tease/show off BF4 like they did with BF3 - reveal at GDC, SP snippet. I don't get his horror/surprise.
He's moaning about there being no release date, too. You could bet your house it was going to release this autumn - this has to be the first time i've seen a "hack" moan about the time needed to receive a release date for something all but confirmed anyway.
Edit: Zero mention about the (seemingly limited) squad mechanics.
I don't think there's any anti-EA sentiment at all. He's making the point about the shooter genre as a whole.
