Now what is it with the bizarre zebra-style paint-job? Kotaku has heard that all the NextBox controllers feature a black and white striped design. The writer speculates that these are all slight variations, forming a kind of controller fingerprint. With a record of these “fingerprints†Microsoft would be able to track down any leak source quite easily.
Ooh, that's sneaky - like it.

How hot and compelling will the new Xbox 720 be? According to Yannis Mallat, Ubisoft Montreal CEO, it will be about as “hot” as the Sony PlayStation 4.
So no chance of a quieter, cooler-running console then? LOL ;)
Can't see why they'd need to change the XBox controller - personally I think it's about right. Heck, even bought one for my PC. Not that keen on the PS3 controller for some reason though - doesn't feel as comfortable to hold.
Re: News - xBox 720 controller to be “more or less what people are used to”
I was hoping for a widened controller with a screen like the Wii u, brilliant for when the wife wants to watch eastenders etc. The last thing I was hoping for is a smaller controller...
Re: News - xBox 720 controller to be “more or less what people are used to”
im glad that theyre making the controler a bit smaller, its the only thing that really put me off the original xbox and the 360, the ps3 controler is just the right size (i have tiny hands) and the xbox one has always been hard to reach the middle, the X button and the start etc, i have to move my hand almost ontop of the controler to reach it...seems a bit...much..
so if they reduce the size by about 25% it should be about perfect.

From a glimpse in a dark and grainy youtube video? Somebody needs their tinfoil hat adjusting.
Re: News - xBox 720 controller to be “more or less what people are used to”
They did once make Xbox mini 360 controllers which were more geared towards kids, dont they do them anymore?
Re: News - xBox 720 controller to be “more or less what people are used to”
for me i dont like the weight of the 360 controller and the left stick location. i prefer the ps3 controller.
Re: News - xBox 720 controller to be “more or less what people are used to”
I love the Xbox controller it just feels right, on the other hand the PS3 one is shocking, it's way to light n the thumb sticks are all wrong!

Yeah, I would put that around mandatory kinect for things that would potentially be fatal for the next Xbox.

Perhaps consoles manufacturers should make two sizes for controllers by default (as I understand, an "S" size controller for the X360 was made for the Japanese market). Personally I prefer the PS3 controller in part because of the size. I bought the Xbox360 controller because it's plug and play on a PC, but in the end, I still went to the trouble of installing a driver/app to make the PS3 controller work on my PC.
Re: News - xBox 720 controller to be “more or less what people are used to”
Well I preferred the 360 controller to the PS3 one, as the thumbsticks felt much better, the dome shape on the PS3 controller made it too easy for your thumbs to slip off, and made it harder to get greater accuracy. It was as people have said a bit too heavy and perhaps a bit too large for some though so making it smaller and lighter is a good thing. Having said that, the shots of the new PS3 controller show a similar style thumbstick to Xbox 360 thumbstick, so I think it's going to be pretty equal this time. Seems like they've really tried to perfect their designs on both systems.

Wouldn't the answer to that be a second TV? Failing that one of those small monitors for the XBox and a set of headphones?
Problem with the screen in the Wii U is (assuming that you can get software support of course) that it makes the controller quite large and heavier than it perhaps needs to be. TBH the WiiU's one always struck me as a bit of gimmick - more a case of looking for a reason to sell new controllers than a genuine innovation.
Re: News - xBox 720 controller to be “more or less what people are used to”
I'd disagree with the idea the screen makes the controller too heavy, it's still about as light feeling as a 360 controller in my opinion. Having that controller has made games like New Super Mario Bros. U very fun with family/friends using boost mode, and playing Black Ops II on the gamepad is way more convenient than hooking up a second TV every time someone wants the TV the system's hooked into. Not only that but some of the features using the gamepad are neat, like weapon selection and scorestreak selection without having to enter menu's on screen, etc.
One complaint I have though is with that width on it, sometimes when things get tense and I'm gripping it seems the shape of it causes some bending, one of these days I'll rip it in half accidentally.
