Did I hear her right (literally and figuratively, seeing as how the sound on this video is right-channel only)??? Almost £1800 for a 5.1 sound system? There have to be much, much better solutions for a lot less than that pricepoint.

lol! £1716 for a 5.1 system, I'm sure it sounds lovely but why price yourself out of the market Sonos?!

It's how she says that price as if it's nothing, just a drop in the ocean, is the thing I find most baffling.

Because they aren't in the market you think, and aren't pricing themselves out of it.

Sonos has a lot of USPs of which price isn't one. Their target market is not someone looking at the price, it's people with big houses who want a system that looks good, sounds good and is a doddle to use. Price therefore isn't really getting a look in.

If you look at the USPs and the above you'll see they do a pretty fine job. However it's not for everyone.

Just my opinion, and fwiw I've a sonos setup (no sound bar), as I want the USPs, and am on the cusp of it being priced right.... For example I won't be buying a playbar as I already have a good 7.1 AV setup, so it's far too pricey for something unneeded. But I do have a sub because I needed more bass for my bathroom in ceiling setup. Was the sub expensive? Sure. Could I have gotten a sub cheaper? Yep. Would it look as good, sound as good and be so simple to integrate? Nope.

And no my house isn't massive. As I said I'm on the edge of their target market.

Overpriced, poor sounding tat. Granted integration and ease of use are good...but not that good!

SONOS are on my all time bad company list.

Mandatory firmware update, stopped me been able to play my subscription music, of course I can switch to a different service, at my cost.

I will never, ever use them, I will recommend highly against them.
