Microsoft has confirmed that all Xbox One games will require mandatory installation onto the system's hard drive and, to install the same disc onto another user's drive, a fee must be paid.

Individual games will be tied to Xbox Live accounts, Microsoft said, meaning that the software giant can detect whether a game has been sold to a retailer and repurchased, or handed from one friend to another. In such instances, the second user must pay a fee

Built to look like a HTPC and going by the press conference that's partly what they want you to think it is

So, what about an Xbox One that's in a household where more than one person has an account?
They say they want it to be the centre of the household then what happens when Dad X buys a game that his two kids also want to play?

I'm assuming that if Dad X, Kid A, and Kid B all want to play the game with their own campaigns, and play online at different times with their own different accounts, then Dad would have to buy the game, AND pay 2x the fee so that both Kid A and B can play with their own accounts.

If the single license was tied to the console instead it would be much better for this scenario.

One seriously ugly machine, in contrast the Xbox 360 looks like a piece of art.

Looks damn mature to me. Nice clean straight edges like any high end gear that sits under a TV. This is going to look very very nice under the
    TV.

Think about it. Pop down to Currys. TV's , bluray players are all going with the simple straight edges now ( except Sony ). Simple gloss black finishes are the
current in for home entertainment equipment.

Microsoft have really thought about this and got it right in my book...

I agree but put silver, matt and gloss black all on the front facia panel and it looks nasty tbh. Nevermind the stupid white xbox symbol the green one looked better.

    Let's hope it's quiet!
My x360 is seriously loud compared to my ps3 / pc.

But fee for using 2nd hand games, halve the price of new games and I might be tempted if not forget it.

Re: News - Xbox One ‘A New Generation Revealed’

Don't really care what it looks like tbh, not going to notice it under the telly or whereever after a while...

Are the specs really similar to PS4?

Built in Kinect 2.0 sounds good, if expensive (also BluRay license too)... it's all gonna add up :-(

    And from the same article...

"We are designing the Xbox One to enable customers to trade in and resell games," a Microsoft spokesperson said, adding: "We'll have more details to share later".

The comment effectively means that the claim regarding a pre-owned fee is not inaccurate.

Re: News - Xbox One ‘A New Generation Revealed’

Looks too plain and boring to me. Nice in one respect for staying in-keeping with other devices in living room, but considering most people who will want it are younger generation, it's too unexciting.
