Nope, technically a downgrade, but I was considering one if they were decent overclockers. Waiting for IB-E really.

I haven't upgraded since my Phenom II X6. I've never come close to needing any more power, not once.

I would consider upgrading my laptop however, as Haswell promises something useful there.

considering I only got my 3570K in January, unless I win the lottery or something I highly doubt it

Nop. My 4.8GHz 2500K is still doing just fine, it will probably last me until Broadwell and hopefully until Skylake.

That's the plan, going from C2D E8400 to Haswell. Not much of a step up I suppose. I might wait a few weeks to see how they overclock. If they don't look so good I'll pick up a second hand 3570K and board.

Well I have an old as C2D E6700 so I'll probably go to haswell.

Iranu look at the tests. If you go for a i5 it's like 5 times the power... not to mention 4 cores

Nope, in the grand scheme of things it's not really much faster than my near 5 year old i7 920.

Re: Features - QOTW: Will you be upgrading to Intel Haswell?

    Doubtful.

Current main machine is several years old, but still doing everything I need of it, with no noticeable creaking at the seams, so why fix what isn't broken?

My 2 year old i7 2600 is still doing well !

Absolutely no need to upgrade or change motherboard!

Re: Features - QOTW: Will you be upgrading to Intel Haswell?

Currently working with a i5 2500k, need an upgrade and was waiting for the new haswell chips. The 4770k looks good in the benchmarks, but with its lack of overclock - ability; I might as well just buy a 3770k. Means i can overclock nice, and don't have to purchase a new Mobo. I think it's great they are trying to focus on making their laptop chips energy efficiency, but for anyone buying a desktop wattage is usually not a big deal. Rather than changing their whole business aim, have different targets for each sector. The people want as much power from the desktop chips as possible. Laptops you want an even balance of power and performance, finally tablets reliability and battery!

Overall, I'm upgrading to an Ivy. Not worth the expense of new Mobo too.
Impressed with the launch price though!

Probably yes, I am currently on a Core i5-760 so it will be a good upgrade for me.

Yes Yes Yes. It's time to replace my ancient i7-920 with something new, shiny and water cooled!
