Well that's alright, you can flog the reference cooler on ebay.

Everyone seemed desperate to get one for their 770.

What, all companies have to sell their cards with reference coolers attatched? Is that sticking, or just a launch thing? They better be making some damn good stock coolers then. Nvidia really aren't doing themselves any favours, if I've understood this correctly..

    It's just a Titan thing.
And from all the reviews the reference cooler is indeed damn good.

Re: News - Gigabyte custom GTX Titan requires bundled cooler

This is the reason I don't like the top end cards. I'd rather have 2 asus direct cu II 680s than a stock 690. Only reason I'd buy a 690 was if I was going to watercool it and over clock by a decent amount ie 1200mhz.

Which is a renamed GTX680 bascically, and it is still way to expensive compared to 7970.

Anyone else think they'll be switching to amd for their next graphics card?

Won't know that until we get reviews, but certainly Volcanic Islands sounds very promising.

Although not as cool as Pirate Islands!

I switched from a 670 FTW to a 7950, because NVidia just make it all look so easy, whereas AMD fumble around with their drivers for 12 months unlocking more and more performance.

Well that and the 7950 cost me £100 less for pretty much the same thing.

That's interesting. I had a 7970 before my 670. 670 performs a lot better in my experience. But 7970 drivers were young then...

Yes things came a long way in the year or so after the 7950/70 launched.

I haven't had a AMD/ATI card since the 9700 non pro. But I don't favour nvidia over amd I just buy the best card at the time. I will definitely look at AMDs line up when I upgrade next time.
