Will they make it possible to set up a ringtone without the need of a degree in nuclear physics?
Mixed opinions about that video - I liked the Ive bits, and yes the new design does seem to look "better". So well done.
Not so impressed with the "new features" that the other speaker was describing - seemed to be a collection of stuff that I've seen elsewhere. For example, the task switching method seems to be identical to that in HTC Sense on my daughters HTC One S, or webOS-based devices. The notifications panel that they're seemingly so proud of ... cough, cough, Android! ;)
Nothing in there would persuade me to switch from my current Android phone, but I'm more inclined to think that my missus' next phone upgrade will see her get an iPhone, (might as well - we've already got Android and Windows Phone devices in the house). She's on a feature phone at the moment, so maybe this new iOS would make her less resistant to an upgrade. She's seen Android and thinks it "messy" and "overly complex" for someone who "just wants to make a phone call and send the occasional text".
Yes, she's a luddite! :wallbash:
I like it, but there's definitely a little "Windows Phone" about the appearance, if you ask me.
I've not looked at the re-designed interface in great detail, but the photos i've seen do seem to look very like the Samsung and HTC skins on Android.
All those law suits look a bit unnecessary in my eyes.
So they've stolen a load of features and ideas from android, and made it look like a childs drawing.
Good.
I'm so very glad Apple are so market leading.
the cynic in me says it's to preserve older hardware and speed - less pixels to push! ;)
No mention of maps then...?
so apple release android for iphone then ;)
They just don't seem to be making an effort.
wow!!! if it is gonna be as good as it looks in the video then i cant wait... but its not like apple disappoints anyone?? ;)
Carried this post over... Image taken from Droid Life comment section from 'Guest'. Facetious but amusing. :P

"While iOS7 is completely new, it was important to us to make it instantly familiar" ... to those who've used android and webOS before :D
I don't think they're claiming innovation this time at least though. I wonder if the voiceover is so slow so that Apple acolytes can keep up?
In all seriousness, much better - iOS has long been due and overhaul...
