Can't wait. Console gamers can eat dirt. Console is dead, the only reason one is better than the other is which one you think sounds cooler. The consoles have the same hardware, same (almost) features, look similar, perform similar. PC FTW!

Not wanting to put words in anyone's mouth, but why do people on hardware sites feel the need to register just to boast about how they are elite because they're able to afford (and this bit is pure speculation) an Intel i7 and guaranteed-to-clock-like-crazy motherboard, and a pair of expensive Nvidia GPUs?

Sorry, but that's not what I call a hardware enthusiast. To me a hardware enthusiast takes cheap parts (like a Core2 Celeron for instance) and clocks them until they almost expires.

Besides, GFLOPS is hardly the only criteria and I expect the new consoles (where games are coded a lot closer to the hardware) to punch a fair bit above their raw GFLOPS weight. In the meantime; yes, a system with the $1000 Titan is quicker than the PS4, big surprise.

Yes, I guess you're right. And here I am stuck with my old Pentium E5300 (released Nov 2008), while others are on the latest and greatest CPUs...

Wait, you're on i7-920 (released Nov 2008). Maybe we had better keep quiet in case the real enthusiast get our accounts locked

Re: News - Nvidia talks about gaming beyond the next-gen

Obviously they're talking up PC gaming, since they've been completely excluded from this little next-gen race. But if they don't catch themselves on with their prices they're going to end up losing out there, as well.

Re: News - Nvidia talks about gaming beyond the next-gen

Well as a PC gamer its all good news. A new 'minimal' bar for game quality (graphics not gameplay ), same architecture so games will either be developed on PC and ported to console or at least when they are ported to PC it won't be a massive job.... and the best thing of all... games like Planetside 2 and other huge MMO's are coming to console meaning I can laugh and shoot them in the face as they are using their controls vs our mice (Quake 2 on dreamcast days!!!!!!!) YEY!

In truth architecture doesn't really make a significant difference thanks to compiled languages, only the Cell CPU of the PS3 threw a spanner in the works there with those SPEs, and most developers just ignored those SPEs and treated the PS3 like any other PowerPC machine. The main hurdle with engine porting is, and always has been, the host runtime environment, and the APIs it supports, and Microsoft is the only real obstacle to vendor neutral software, as usual.

I wish they'd talk about their 320.18 driver instead.

I thought Tom Clancy's The Division wasn't coming to PC. Which I was mortified by, but it's on the list. Is there something PCGamesN know that hasn't been announced yet?
