Tempting - as a very low user of my mobile I like the open-ended nature of the top-up system. Suspect £10 of credit would last me 3 months...
321 looks pretty good! A "true" pay as you go plan.
Stupid bundles from other companies that require you to top up £10 a month. For £10 you might as well get a sim only contract.

Have to say, with my typical monthly usage that might well work out cheaper than my current contract - and I'm only paying £7.50 a month anyway!
@Infinite: monthly contracts require credit checking and incur additional costs if you go over your bundled allowance. PAYG are ideal for people who can't be credit checked (under 18's), those with a poor credit rating, and people with debt management issues - debt management advice always used to be to get a PAYG mobile as you can't run up huge bills on it.
Looks very tempting, especially since you are roaming and not relying on Three's network coverage. Too bad I don't leave the UK as much as I used to.
Edit: guess I need my morning coffee still, that's a new plan, not roaming charges -_-

Mine still works like that... Though Three are naughty because the rates only apply for 30 days after you top up. I see no mention on the page of what the rates are after the bonus period. At least my 'traditional' PAYG rates are consistent and never require me to top up every month or whatever.Originally Posted by scaryjim

On the 321 page it says
So top up, use at the 321 price until youve consumed all your credit, be it 1 day or 300 days.Once you've topped up, the rates don't change after 30 days -
they last until you've used your last penny. And the next time
you top-up, they'll still apply.

Quite right - I misread entirely!
Can't remember where i read it, but aren't they scrapping roaming fees altogether by July next year?
Also 1p per MB isn't exactly good value for money if you use much data.

May switch to this tariff, I'm on the old flat 12 tariff still, but I enjoy getting free internet and texts when I top up and not worrying about it affecting my minutes (which I sometimes get via stretch).
1p/meg is cheap though
I use giffgaff these days, £12 per month for 250 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited internet (no tethering and <1GB per hour or giffgaff will check to see if your activity is illegal). Put's things into perspective at how much of a rip off some of the major mobile networks are.
No, I totally agree. I guess I did not express the point I was trying to make.
The concept of topping up £5-15 a month is for "reward bundles" are a method for phone companies to lock up people into almost contract like plans. Requiring you to top up £10 a month for 1gb of Internet or paying 30p per MB, the choice is a no brainer. So you are basically setting yourself up to £10 for the "free" 1 GB per month when you would get some £10 plans that offer much more.
Regarding credit checking; you must be in some serious s**t for them not to a approve £10 a month direct debit XD
I have some family coming over from HK in 3 weeks so I was already comparing PAYG sims for them. This 321 blows the rest of them out the water. Also once they are done with it I can just put one into my laptop's built-in 3G modem as use it as cheap back-up internet when I'm on the go. The other PAYG mobile broadband sims are pretty naff.
For me benefit of PAYG is, if I get my phone nicked, I only have to worry about the price of the handset ((40 quid landfilldroid off gumtree) and whatever credit is preloaded. With a contract they could dig straight into my account and keep on taking. Or I pay insurance - yet another fee...
3's rep on coverage worries me a little as part of a phone's function for me is emergency calls to the AA if car/bike breaks down in nowhereville.
I've a £7.50 a month sim only with 3, for 15GB of data... Unless I'm having a blond moment, getting just 750megabytes would cost that much. All you need to do is use on average 1gb a month and it would be much, much cheaper on their older deal.

Think 321 would be perfect for the very light and sporadic use profile of my parents.
I'm on Giffgaff too. As of next month I get:
500 mins+unlimited text+1GB data (Tethering=yes) £10
