I would say these smartwatches are going to see a stuttering product launch, I hate wearing watches or anything on my wrist, so it'd take some convincing. Maybe I'll be eating my words in a years time!
Also "100 designers" sounds like a disaster waiting to happen <too many cooks cliche here>
I've been on large design teams in the past and most have ended in a messy confused product, so hopefully for Apple they have a strong lead (JIve is a bit hit and miss for me).

They are just feeling left out because of Sony and other android smart watches.
Fancy putting an expensive toy on your child's wrist so you can let them go out and feel safe? Presumably that watch will make them a prime target for muggings, no?
I wonder if this will be another game changing device...though I'm not sure at all
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!
I wonder about the battery life of those watches. If it can't last 24h at the very least, then I reckon that it'll be ridiculed (ideally, it should last at least 1 week). Secondly, I think that it'll help if wireless charging would be make such devices more attractive. It should ideally be as easy as taking it off and putting it next to the lamp table next to the bed.
The device isn't really for me*, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility that it's a hit. Kinda like tablets I guess - I still haven't bothered with one, and I am still not entirely sold on them.. yet the market, despite being a fraction of smartphones is still pretty significant.
*I haven't worn a watch for a pretty long time, and my last watches have also doubled as a HRM. But now, I am thinking of just getting a Bluetooth HRM strap and rely on smartphone apps to monitor my HR during exercise. I find it a bit annoying that I might have to buy a cheap digital watch for timekeeping during an upcoming exam.
Meh, I stopped wearing a watch around the same time I started carrying a mobile phone - it isn't that much of a chore to reach into your pocket to tell the time - so this feels like a step backwards, to me at least.
I have a fetish for watches and have 38 but would I buy an apple one no. You cannot compare them to the likes of a TAG, Breitling or an Omega
