I'm a little confused; "1920 pixels square". Does that mean the square root is the image dimensions? If so, it comes out to about 44x44. At that resolution, you are going to be limited to the very narrow window of macro to short range pictures where depth is useful.

edit; Nvm, saw it was 1920x1920 on the linked TechRadar article. The demo pictures don't carry that across well though.

Yeah saying 1920x1920 might have been a bit clearer. It's a strange aspect ratio though, you're probably going to have to crop for printing and it sounds pretty crap for wide field shots like groups of people or landscapes.

Looks like this is mostly limited to portraits and creative shots like those shown in the demo, might also be good for up close wildlife shots (I'm thinking small mammals, bugs etc) where you need to shoot quick and think later.

Not really much point buying this for landscape or wide shots anyway, as typically your focus point is near to infinite.

Sounds like they've chosen their retailers carefully. Still would've been good if they could've thrown in more on-board storage for the price, it's not as though it's expensive anymore.
