This certainly shoots down the Micron news that they have just developed a 16nm NAND flash chip if Samsung are now on 10nm!!

Maybe that 120 gig boot drive is a good idea now...

sure made my pc feel new.. but id be careful with imports.. got mine from drivehut.co.uk to make sure mine came from a UK supplier.. not the cheapest, but certainly the safest.. plus they answer my emails. still a bit weird not hearing my pc loading anymore.

    It's 10 nm class so probably 19nm.

So is this actually better or worse than the 840 Pro?

Doesn't seem much better then the 840 pro well at least in read/write speeds and iops.

smaller drives seem better though (120gig for example) in all benchmarks

Re: News - Samsung SSD 840 EVO range launched, featuring "TurboWrite"

It uses 'TLC' NAND like the 840 (non-pro), so I'm not sure the performance will be all that great. Still, we'll have to wait & see. I do like the idea of having a 1TB SSD

Re: News - Samsung SSD 840 EVO range launched, featuring "TurboWrite"

so with it being all in-house and made by Samsung. does that mean they've cut out supplier costs and therefore it'll be cheaper? can only hope.

although they've probably spent more on r&d costs for the NAND so the cost will stay the same or go up

and 1TB is still not enough for my games drives, will just have to get 2 when I come to upgrade
