Can this SkyDrive be de-activated ? I don't want anything uploaded ,i want full control . I want full control not microsoft !!

Yes. You have to opt in for it by using a Microsoft Account, you then have to opt in for it to be either to read any file, or save them to the sync folders.Quote:

SkyDrive will not just unilaterally start stealing your files, as to do so would cause so many privacy issues (translation: expensive law suits in the US). Other systems - in my case Dropbox - function in a similar fashion.
However, I've seen some reports that Windows8.1 will make the SkyDrive the default storage location for all applications. Which, if true, is a dumb idea - especially if there's no setting somewhere to override it. Then again, it'd be in line with the habit Redmond seems to have at the moment of making bone-headed decisions. :p
