I cant wait for note3. Due for an upgrade soon so goodbye iphone4s. Used to use android with original sony xperia x1. But it was not a good user exp. however after testing current androids i cant wait. Its improved so much. Where as ios has largely remained the same( but slower with each update on older hardware)

I'm waiting for a letter through the door any day now for my upgrade. It's either this or the S4

Had my current Note since the end of October 2011, so I'll be due an upgrade this October, should be just about in time for the Note 3.

Any news about the bigger Note - the 10.1 one? I've got the current gen one and it's very impressive. Doesn't do anything spectacular (if you exclude S-Pen) but what it does do, it does without fuss.

Think you mean "Xperia X10", not "Xperia X1" because the latter was a WinMo phone, not Android.

If it was the X10 then it's maybe a little unfair to say that it was a bad user experience - probably on a par (more or less) with what was about those days. But where I will agree is that Android's UE has come on by leaps and bounds, the ICS release being the big deal in my opinion. I've tried various UI layers and in truth the only one that I've had problems with is Sense, and even there I could probably retrain myself.

Career status: still enjoying my new career in DevOps, but it's keeping me busy...

    Yes. X10i. Lol.

It most likely was on par with what else was around at that time, but to me it was slow and clumbsy. Hell i even prefered my old nokia n96 to it. And yes, ICS is what settled my choice on what phone to get next. Trying out the note2 in stores and i was impressed with how smooth it all worked. Even on the lower models it runs fairly well.
Can not say ived tried the HTC sense much, but as for samsungs touchwiz, i like it.

Re: News - Samsung teases Galaxy Note 3 for 4th September Unpacked event

Is there really that much to look forward too. Will the Note 3 be that much of a step from the Note 2. Besides more power and a 1080p screen, will this just be like the S4 launch, where after the initial buzz and take up, people will opt for the cheaper older model due to the reduced price. The Note 2 is a very very capable device, its can handle anything and everything thrown at it with no problems.
