Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
A really good bargain this time around. However registering the games via Origin takes forever due to their systems being overwhelmed currently..

Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
Can anyone comment on which titles can be activated on steam?
-
Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
I've recently tried to make it a rule to avoid buying EA PC games if I can after ME3 however this was an offer I couldn't refuse. Shame some are origin only as I'd rather avoid that if I could.

Steam & Origin: Dead Space, Burnout, Crysis 2, Mirrors Edge, Medal of Honor.
Origin Only: Dead Space 3, Sims 3, Battlefield 3.

Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
It also seems like you can activate both the steam and origin keys for the games that come with both!
-
Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
Hmm, last time I tried to use a key supplied elsewhere on Origin it insisted that I define a credit card to the account being used. Hopefully they (EA) have fixed that oversight because I'm thinking that I quite fancy a pair of these for the kids (and dad'll take the Dead Space license because I've already got the other ones of this bundle that I like).

Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
Really good deal and good business move by EA, should get new Origin users and no doubt a percentage of Humble bundle buyers will go on to buy DLC / Microtransactions.
-
Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
Definitely a good deal, id buy it for the BF3 Soundtrack alone :)
Also Burnout and Deadspace are on my list too :p
-
Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
I've got Origin and Steam installed but I'd rather activate on steam where possible.
This looks like a great offer that I'll definately be getting!

Really? that's basically two copies of the game though

Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
Wonder if it's worth holding off for a few days, pretty sure I've seen games added on in the past.

Any games that are added are automatically added to your purchase page. Either store the link or register to make sure you don't miss out
-
Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
yup, a couple of games were added late on in the silver bundle and assuming you'd paid above average you automatically received them.
Stonking deal!

Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
67p for 6 games and 2 soundtracks, or £3.13 to add BF3 and Sims 3. Bargain!

Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
Great that most of these games are on Steam. I played BF3 for a while but haven't reinstalled it as it didn't really capture my interest, and I HATE origin with such a huge vengeance. Awful, torrid piece of flakey rubbish. And yes, I remember the early days of steam...
I guess I'll have to reinstall origin to play dead space 3, but I'll save that for when I've got through all the other games (no need for BF3 as I already have it, and... 'The Sims 3'? Really?).
-
Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
Deadspace 3 has been on my list, so that alone would make this good value.

The Sims 3 Soundtrack
Yay, it's what I've always wanted! :)

Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
Shame that it doesn't include sim city, else I would have already got it...
-
Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
I've just got myself a copy, may end up getting a 2nd depending if the games can be activated on both and then played at the same time.

I bought the Deep Silver bundle in the first week for less than the average price and I still got the extra games when they were added.
I think it's definitely worth picking up asap even for $1.

Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
Can't see them adding any more games to this already great deal.
-
Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
I'm not sure whether to get it. If they add more games I may beat the average, otherwise I'll go just under.. Unless BF3 is actually really good (not bothered by the sims )
-
Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
BF3 is great if you want to play it online. The campaign is a bit meh... but end of the day you are getting all of those games for less than the price of a pint.
-
Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
Yeah I have no problem paying, but I just feel like it would be a waste if I'm not going to play the games. But I've just remembered it's all to charity this time, right? So I guess it doesn't matter.
Would bf3 still be good online but without my friends?

Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
Hmmmmm. Yeah it's a good deal, but it's a real shame the Humble Bundle guys seem recently to have decided to forget about the Indie developers.
-
Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
One last question : is dead space worth it if I have bioshock already? I've realised that being fairly similar hasn't stopped me from getting gta, saints row and sleeping dogs ^_^
But yeah, there's been a few non-indie bundles recently
-
Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
I have a backlog of games that I really need to play, some have been there over a year now, but I couldn't let this offer pass. My backlog of games has doubled but it cost me comparatively little for these additions.
I love the guys running the Humble Bundle, they provide amazing offers. I think this last year I bought more games through Humble Bundles than on Steam sales, mostly because there was no DRM but this is an exception I am happy to make.

I tried dead space (was on steam for a couple quid once) I thought it was incredibly slow, more scifi/horror than action

Well worth it for a few quid, a proper poop your pants game (though with moments of running back and forth). Wasn't too fussed about DS2, hoping DS3 is back to the original in style.

Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
Aye carumba I know what people are talking about when they moan about origin now. I'm downloading battlefield 3 at 7.64kb/s and it's going to take 82:08:40. I think that must mean 82 days. I mean I know it's gonna be busy with bundles like this but I might just crack out me old us robotics courier and see if I can crack 10kb/s with it. *sigh*

Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
They added Red Alert 3 and Populas yesterday :D
-
Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
Are these good? I was waiting for them to add some games but I've never heard if these ones

You've not heard of Command & Conquer? Where have you been?!?!? :P
Actually I'm unsure if Red Alert 3 was actually one of the good ones as I never played it but free game is still a free game. Populous is a game from 1989 and I believe its still the original version, it was great back in the day but I have no idea how its aged.

Re: News - Humble Origin Bundle launched with ALL proceeds to charity
For a RTS, Red Alert 3 is pretty much on par with the rest of the series (C&C and RA). No new innovations like we saw with Supreme Commander but still a good RTS experience IMHO
