It supplies DRAM to Apple for use in its iPhone range.
Another reason for Apple to jack up prices even more :-P

For all we know that could be a pile of burning tyres in the car park ;-).
Start a bit of panic, as was done with the Thai floods, the media (including tech media sites) will hype it up and folk will panic buy and suppliers will have a good excuse to put up prices of everything connected.

+1 Myss_tree - and then when everything's back to normal they can resume with their extortionate prices.........................
Re: News - DRAM price concerns stoked by huge SK Hynix factory blaze
After reading the headline I immediately thought: "how convenient that that happened when there was talks of prices going down"
Call me a cynic...
Re: News - DRAM price concerns stoked by huge SK Hynix factory blaze
Guess for the time being I need to get lucky and Win some Ram and a cpl SSD,s here on Hexus! That would be a blessing!Sounds like a good idea to me! I guess all the fires in California is going to drive the price of CPU,s and Motherboards up next! On the Flip side God Bless all those firefighters for their hard work and sacrafice!!! You guys are hero,s!!
Re: News - DRAM price concerns stoked by huge SK Hynix factory blaze
well lets hope no one was hurt
Re: News - DRAM price concerns stoked by huge SK Hynix factory blaze
They said no-one was hurt IIRC.
Re: News - DRAM price concerns stoked by huge SK Hynix factory blaze
I expect it will be overblown to increase RAM prices massively. We saw this with HDDs,with the floods. Production levels have been higher than before the floods for a long time now,and HDDs have even shorter warranties and yet companies have hiked prices.
