You're only getting this now? I think that point was made by everyone 2 seconds after it's announcement. Personally I can't see myself being interested in using either, I like fiddling with the settings, , plus every game basically has a mandatory "system" check when it's started.

In my experience Geforce experience is a waste of time. The suggested settings are miles out of whack - my current system rarely drops out of vsync at ultra/1080 in Hitman Absolution say, geforce experience reckons I should be at medium settings.

Another tick for choosing AMD in my next build instead of a gtx760 or 770, depending on performance of the new cards. This was a good feature to have for my 560ti and having it integrated with something I already use (Raptr) gives more incentive to make use of it.

Re: News - AMD and Raptr launch the AMD Gaming Evolved App (beta)

I gave it a try and found it rather pointless, not to mention it couldn't tell half life 2 and hl2 episode 1 or 2 apart. Also the widget doesn't remember where you placed it after a reboot. And I kept getting posts and stuff from complete strangers intermingled with it. The free game they awarded me for god knows what was for iphone only.

SHORT VERSION: I found it a pain in the knackers !

Geforce experience settings managed to stop me being able to play a game at all. Thought it was a driver issue or a failing card to begin with!

Re: News - AMD and Raptr launch the AMD Gaming Evolved App (beta)

Well i was seeing a nice performance to begin with, before I installed this, and to be perfectly honest i assumed it would just silence a few programs in the background and, for example put my anti-virus software into Silent/Gaming Mode, but instead when i let it 'optimize' my game for 'quality' it lowered my settings a fair bit and I saw little to no increase in performance. I even magically lost a few FPS in BioShock Infinite in places. With some refining I bet this could be a wonderful, but for now the Widget is a pain, I don't need yet another method of getting achievements in game every and I don't need yet another application tracking my social activity when I already use steam and Razer Comms.
If all the above we're to be addressed and maybe just make it a small simple version that runs in the background and literally just optimized games, I'd be fine with it.

I don't care about Achievements (I'll define them for myself, thank-you very much) and I have no interest in "socializing" with people I don't know and most likely have nothing in common with.

If it can't even do its main job well...

Sounds like a good app but will need some fine tuning.

Re: News - AMD and Raptr launch the AMD Gaming Evolved App (beta)

I like it. It makes it easier for people who are scared/confused by lots of settings get the most out of their games... its not perfect but its mostly good imo.

With GeForce Experience I do find that its quite conservative about what settings it does (sticking things on high which I know will run on Ultra etc) but thats understandable... on the flip side in things like Skyrim is changes settings that are only accessable via Mods or manually editing the ini files which is awesome.
