However all varieties are still up for pre-order, despite reports of a 128GB Pro 2 sell out.

I guess they only made 100 units then....
Re: News - Microsoft Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 are close to selling out
Yeah its pretty meaningless without actually telling us how many units 'sell out' actually is. This generation of surface, on paper at least, do seem a lot more appealing than the original.
I still wouldn't go for the RT though :p
Re: News - Microsoft Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 are close to selling out
Agreed, I suspect this extremely unlikely.
I work in the IT industry and haven't seen the original Surface in use anywhere!
Re: News - Microsoft Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 are close to selling out
I agree too its hard to believe that the surface could have sold out
Re: News - Microsoft Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 are close to selling out
Well, a few things. They could have learnt the lesson from first gen and made considerably fewer units. Or it could just be marketing, because guess what, it's made the news by claiming this.
To be fair though, I am very interested in one with a power cover but the price is a little steep for me, even though I think it's priced very competitively.

I thought they announced that the original Surface RT had sold out? Or was that more just having logistics problems!

 unlikely
Actually, does anyone here actually own/use a Surface!

Well they delayed mine by a fair few days, and that was meant to be one of the first UK ones....
I know about 1 in 10 for every iPad owner. But tbh everyone I know who's got a surface, has the touch cover (it's essential) and then with Office and now Outlook, well its an incredibly useful device. Unlike an iPad.

Fancy the pro 2 instead?
Re: News - Microsoft Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 are close to selling out
You have bought one?! Amazing
I beg to differ, if you have the infrastructure in place (like citrix) you can use office on the iPad/Andriod tablet. Obviously dependant on internet access. Who seriously wants to use Office on a tablet anyway, if you buy a old fashion laptop you get a keyboard thrown in for free! ;)
Re: News - Microsoft Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 are close to selling out
Believable or the surface2 pro is the best grown up tablet there is and it probably will continue to be for a year or so.
But who's buying the RT version? That I don't understand. Don't they know they're paperweights without software? Can you at least hack android on one?

There is nothing on iPad or Android that comes close to office.
If you, you know, do work, then the RT has more useful apps than iPad / Andriod, its 4 - 0.
Re: News - Microsoft Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 are close to selling out
From what I've read a while back, the Surface Pro tablets are great for artists, illustrators etc. since they use Wacom technology in their screens. So I guess the Surface Pro has at least something going for it...
