Re: News - Fox News research team dwarfed by 55" Microsoft touch displays
So Fox News is basically pieced together by searching the internet for stories?
Would explain a lot... ;)
Re: News - Fox News research team dwarfed by 55" Microsoft touch displays
how pointless they cant even reach the top half of them. wasted real estate and money. got to get out of your seat to press the 'X' in the top right corner wtf?
Re: News - Fox News research team dwarfed by 55" Microsoft touch displays
They can get all the technology they want, but if they still do news like retards, for retards, what's the point?
Re: News - Fox News research team dwarfed by 55" Microsoft touch displays
Ergonomics seem terrible. Guy in the red tie in the pic is looking down at a 16-18"-ish sized square at the bottom of the screen. It's going to knacker your arms, neck and back stretching and twisting to use one of those things for 8 hours a day.
Although it is Fox, so I'm guessing it'll mostly be used to watch YouTube videos.
Not wanting to agitate the company web filters, do they mention screen res in the video?
Re: News - Fox News research team dwarfed by 55" Microsoft touch displays
What's the point of having a touchscreen so large you can't easily reach the top?
Combine that with the fact that you can't see the whole screen without moving you're head and I think it's pretty obvious that most of these journalists are going to start suffering from neck and shoulder pain.
Re: News - Fox News research team dwarfed by 55" Microsoft touch displays
are these like the ones they use on sky sports (football/f1)?
Re: News - Fox News research team dwarfed by 55" Microsoft touch displays
Article makes it sound like MS made these, or had any involvement in them.
In reality they probably just choose windows 8 because it has a good multitouch API.

They are actually made by microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/office/perc...s/default.aspx
However I don't think microsoft ever intended them to be used this way, they're mainly marketed as a presentation device/whiteboard replacement.
Resolution is just standard 1080p.

Microsoft has been working on this kind of stuff for a while (remember seeing it in lectures) at the time it was called Surface :p

If they actually searched the net for stories they might actually be able to produce a more truthful and interesting broadcast, instead of just reading out what is handed to them from the government.

Argh my eyes hurt already! :p
We had a few of these at work up on the wall. Worked reasonably well for their purpose (displaying information at a distance) but I would hate trying to use one that close, the DPI was horrendous.

These are brilliant for anyone that uses CAD. Aircraft drafts men/woman use them in some places. A digital drawing board..

Fox News can now target people faster and more efficiently with propaganda. Good for us
