Been looking forward to this one but it's definatly an odd one development wise....

Designed by COD devs, using the source engine and released by EA.

Firstly, YAY! This game looks awesome!

Secondly, £250 for the collectors edition (from GAME) sounds a little steep to me since its $250 in the US. Thats around £155 as a direct conversion, plus 20% VAT is £186.

Why are we paying about £69 more??

Because we'll buy far fewer units than the US. And it's priced by market value, not costs+fixed margin.

Honestly, you'd be a bit of a mug to pay £155 for that anyway.

It looks amazing, it's the sort of thing I'd like to try as Single player campaign game, but somehow it looks like it's not going to have a campaign element in there.

That's a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy, though, isn't it? If you charge much more you'll get much less demand.

Not for collectors items. Drop the price a bit and you aren't likely to generate any additional demand, certainly not enough to make up for the market size difference between the UK and US. In fact, you can actually hurt demand if you price too low and it stops being something really special.

Looks awesome, read about it in Edge and loved the look of it.
Now I have seen footage I can confidently predict I will be poo at it.
Pilot movement looks very reminiscent of Tribes (something else I was naff at).

I didn't know that. Sounds interesting! I wonder how all those factors came together. Do you know?
