Can't do £300, I would have to pay the extra and bag a 780 or the R290 that looks to be hitting the £350 mark.

Re: Features - QOTW: Which graphics card(s) would you buy on a £300 budget?

I certainly wouldn't presume to give buying advice on £300 cards, as I know naff-all about them.

From my own money, there's no way I'd spend anything like £300. Not unless I was buying 3 cards, maybe 4, for that.

If given the voucher, I'd rather sell it. But if forced, at gunpoint, to spend a £300 voucher on a card, I'd ask on here what the best card for that money is .... then sell the card.

Sorry if that's not helpful, but I just have no use for and zero personal interest in high end cards.

Put it this way. If given a £300 card that I wasn't allowed to sell, I'd probably stick it on a shelf and forget about it. I certainly don't see any point in me wasting time and effort installing it.

And no, I'm not kidding, or exaggerating.

I guess I would buy a 280X and Xfire it with my 7970.

I would get two of these XFX 7870s for £148.54 each and run them in crossfire (£297.04 in total)

This also gives you access to AMDs never settle forever bundles (silver) and with 2 cards thats 4 free games!

I don't think I would spend much over £200 on a graphics card TBH,and ideally would not want to go over £150 to £160.

Re: Features - QOTW: Which graphics card(s) would you buy on a £300 budget?

I would most likely go with a gtx770 from green team. Or if allowed a gtx760 and a creative zx soundcard. To me graphics are not the only thing that makes a game.

And one cheeky option with the £300 is buying an apu setup. New amd 88x chipsets are due soon with fm2 apu support. I know its not exactly a graphics card, but it is a budget gaming system ( indie games and htpc uses). Lacks free game bundles though.

But only because you wanted to get as close to 400$ as possible
    The reference cooler looks good

Re: Features - QOTW: Which graphics card(s) would you buy on a £300 budget?

I would buy 2 x 7870 2gb (think about £150 each now) and OC the shiz out of em. I have 2 x 7850 2GB gigabyte windforce ones with a high OC on air and they play everything maxed out and never had any of the micro stuttering either... Very happy indeed. (I love crossfire btw, looks so cool in my case)

I would buy the R9 280X Toxic edition card which beats the GTX 780 in some games for half the price
