I'm pretty sure just last week AMD revealed a new 12Gb card, do nvidia have a mole at AMD perhaps ??

Well, lets see. GK110 die utilising full 2880 shaders? Yup, that's the 780 Ti.
I guess partners might slap up to 6GB RAM on a 780 Ti, but actually virtually no games will use it at the minute.

If there are any games running 3x 4K then you would use it (with 3 way SLI).

This is just personal anecdote but I've used 3.1GB in crysis 2 I think with all the settings including high res textures with a 2560x1440 monitor :P Something about there anyway, 2.8GB was a regular occurrence in that game. 4GB per card here so I'm not complaining.
Re: News - Nvidia launches Tesla K40 GPU Accelerator at SC13
If you're running SLI or crossfire then you won't get 4GB per card, it'll be shared between however many cards you have.
Re: News - Nvidia launches Tesla K40 GPU Accelerator at SC13
Hexus' recent 4K reviews saw Crysis3 spiking to ~ 3.5GB, but all other titles remaining below 3GB, so I think "virtually" no games was appropriate ;)

What about 3 4K monitors though :P
Re: News - Nvidia launches Tesla K40 GPU Accelerator at SC13
I'll put one in my computer system if I won it as a competition prize! :)
I wouldn't buy one. :surprised: :surprised:
Re: News - Nvidia launches Tesla K40 GPU Accelerator at SC13
dont blame you with no display outputs ;)

Well, AMD launch is a paper one as the card won't be available until Q2 2014 whereas Nvidia card is a hard launch and is available now.

Both right and wrong in essance
Titan is based off of the full fat gk110 with double precision floating fully enabled (hence why titan is liked, it's basically cheap tesla with graphics output), the 780ti is only 1/3 enabled. The 780 ti uses the full 2880 shaders while the titan does not.
With the K40 you get the best of both chips, ie full double precision (important for certain calculations etc) and full shader count for processing etc. They'll likely be pick of the crop chips and so Nvidia stick a price tag in the £5-10,000 range.... You could also say it's a quadro k6000 (has 12gb) minus the graphics outputs, it's basically the same.
Although having said that the K40 could be based off gk180 so titan 2 could be a possibility...

Having this would mean = Battlefield 4 max setting low diff.

Tesla K40 GPU accelerator “surpasses all other accelerators on two common measures of computational performance: 4.29 teraflops single-precision and 1.43 teraflops double-precision peak floating point performance”-----WOW
