The controller and am interested to see how the cloud/XBL processing comes into play.
XBOne isn't on my shopping list at all, and nothing excites me about it. To the contrary, in fact, I've already considered it and, as an existing XB360 owner, ruled it out.
Nothing.
Nothing.
Nothing. Both consoles are terrible given the fact that we have graphics cards available that can run games in 4K. They're horribly overpriced too. I'm super excited for the steambox

Add me
Nothing really excites me with the 2 latest consoles, at least not that excitement I used to get when looking over new features and possibilities. I think the last console that did that for me was Wii U at E3.
But that's not to say I'm not intrigued by the new consoles and they're definitely on my radar, but I'm not rushing out to buy any Day One editions of either. What looks neat about the XBox One is the new Kinect, while many people like to complain about it being a useless feature costing extra because it's bundled, having it part of the default install base will allow devs to have confidence in a good chunk of the install base using any extra features they implement for it. But it may not do much, when I come home and relax with a game, depending on the game, I may not want to do much standing or jumping.
I just hope the developpers improved their tracking, few things are as infuriating as doing 20+ pushups and Your Shape saying you're not doing pushups, then saying you burned 0 calories.
Aside from an improved Kinect, the PS4 and XBox One just seem like upgrades from last gen's models, whereas we can pretty much expect the same types of games with improved graphics, and hopefully less lag online.
XBox One has the HDMI in feature, but then again my remote has always had the "source" option to switch, and Picture In Picture is almost standard these days, but it's still neat(Though I don't subscribe to cable).
PS4's Vita integration is pretty cool looking though and I'm interested in that. It would be pretty cool to be able to play remotely anywhere, though I wonder if that could hurt portable sales.
If anything this will be the console's downfall.
If a game is designed with the intent of could processing it will require online connectivity. Think about the outrage that came from 24 check-ins, then thing about 24/7 connection.
Of course if the processing is dynamic (much like an 'ultra' graphic setting on the PC), is to do with useless gimmicks (Forza drivatar) ,or is used only in multiplayer for a performance boost (that one is cool but unlikely given the cloud can only process non-latency dependent tasks) then it could work in MS's favour.
The only thing the Xbone has going for it is MS software support. By the end of the current-gen the 360 had a vastly superior dashboard experience. For the hardcore gamer....Xbone really is kind of a dead cause vs the PS4
Well I'm excited to see the new games that emerge on these platforms. The PC will always be my primary platform but Sony have had some interesting exclusives that I'd like to play so if theres more like that then I'd consider a ps4. Not so interested in the Xbox but I will be waiting to see how they develop before I decide what to buy, if anything.
I just spent £560 on GTX780 Ti... why would I want an Xbox?!
I'm really not bothered at all by XBone, as really it doesn't seem to offer anything new that appeals, and Microsoft's focus on "entertainment hub" rather than games console does nowt for me. Plus, continuing on the downsides it's ugly; expensive; the games are expensive; and there's not much content that I'm interested in. Actually I was more enthusiastic for the the last XBox360 launch (the Slim). PS4 at least has the advantages that it's cheaper, better looking and at least does seem to focus a little bit more on game playing rather than trying to sell online films, music etc.
Given that consoles are usually hooked up to TV's - how many affordable 4K res TV's do you see on the market? As far as I'm aware, there's none, in which case it makes zero sense to aim for a resolution that none but the indecently wealthy can get at. Heck even my monitor only does 1080p. Agree with you over the SteamBox - or more specifically SteamOS - though. Here's hoping devoutly that Valve don't screw it up - Microsoft and Sony really need some serious competition (and no I don't include Nintendo with their warmed over Wii).
Better pc ports. Nuff said. Looking Forward to steamos rather than any console. I will admit the xbone does have a nice gui but its nothing new, just an xbox360 with upgrades. And a kinect..... Always watching you... Lol
I'm watching with interest but nothing excites me about either of the new consoles.
CAT-THE-FIFTH (23-11-2013)
What excites me about it is that, as a consequence of its release, the price of the XBox 360 should be dropping in a rather rapid fashion, making it, and its already robust library far more affordable.
Not looking forward to anything XBone related. Microsoft aren't on this planet. Their original announcement of the XBone sealed their fate for me. No amount of back peddling will every recover interest from me again.
