I'm sure 99.9% of those sales were coincidentally-came-with-laptop rather than ZOMG I MUST HAVE TOUCHSCREEN LAPTOP! With the 0.1% technology enthusiast crowd dying to try it out hoping it'll ever actually be useful.
You know, I love it when these so-called "industry experts" decide to extrpolate sales figures 5 years int the future from a single reference base figure. I'd be willing to put money down that by 2017 at least 40% of all notebooks *available* will have touchscreens
Of course, Intel mandated that this year's Ultrabook(tm)s had to have touchscreen, which will have helped bump the market share for touch enabled notebooks significantly.
