As above. The stupid idiot should have been left to learn his lesson. And publicity for CeX? Not really, they're now seen as a stupidness target.

Not sure why everyone calls this kid stupid, sounds to me like he was conned, and I usually don't go around blaming the victim in these cases. Nice he got it for free, I know I would be eternally grateful if someone did that for me when I was feeling suckered.

For as long as 'Clatworthy' is synonymous with disengaging brain, and optionally winning a prize, then his legend will live on. Years from now historians will point to this incident and reference it in their studies.

Either that or someone else will top this in a few weeks and we'll forget this shining star completely.

Without seeing the ebay add I can't judge just how stupid he is, from the fact he got a refund it may not have been as described.

Either way, why does he get a free one? at best they should have kept one to the side for him to buy as he did have his money back

To be fair he is just a kid and kid's make mistakes, that's how they learn. Which leads me to agree CEX should never had given him an XBone, instead he is rewarded for his stupidity! He might have a promising career in banking if he keeps up his stupid decisions !

He is young, but why not just buy it from amazon for £429.99? Or from Tesco/Sainsburys and get the points?

Good to see this really bringing out the cynic in everyone!

I agree with Percy that without seeing the ebay listing it's very difficult to know how culpable this guy actually is. Although the fact that ebay refunded him suggest that the listing was at least wilfully misleading, if not necessarily actually fraudulent.

He was very lucky to end up with a free one out of it though - goes to show the power of local press still!
