Kerbal Space Program. I've spent hours just constructing giant ships for them to blow up about 15 seconds later. Wipes the floor with any of the AAA titles I have tried this year.
Heretic DOS
TrackMania.. so simple, so addictive for a LAN party.
I think my favorite this past year has been Tomb Raider reboot, really enjoyed exploring the island and it had some great locations.
Bioshock Infinite was excellent also and really enjoyed it, thought it was a little drawn out towards the end though.
Mars War Logs is also a pretty interesting game, you can tell it didn't have the biggest of budgets but it is decent enough for the price.
GTA V! Dusted my old PS3 off especially for it, can't wait for the PC version next year.
Forza 5 doesn't deserve to be on that list of examples. Gran Turismo 6 on the previous gen of consoles is superior graphically. That is a true embarrassment for Microsoft.
It's going to be either
EVE Online (a game I no longer play but i sunk a lot of time in it for the first 2/3's the year)
TF2
or Shogan 2 TOTAL WAR
though in the last 3 months, my gaming habits have changed a lot, i now play more things like KSP, Warframe, FFXIV and Magic 2014 because I've changed my gaming group when i moved away from EVE.
Once upon a time, my TS could fill more than 2 squads on BF:BC2 every night, but over the years, that's slowly whittled away and when i stopped playing EVE, i effectively split away from the last 3 that were there.
It's a shame really.
I miss playing WC3 and BF:BC2 with them all. (I still have my original map folder for WC3, something i'm quite proud off)
Why do we have to grow up and become responsible
Sad to say, Dragon Age Origins. Nothing better came along so far.
DayZ Standalone
Candy Crush Saga - Sad but true!
Dareos (20-12-2013)
Closely followed by GTA V
I always have real problems deciding on these things
Multiplayer - CoD : Ghosts - Probably more to do with the team of guys i play with rather than the game itself
Single Player : GTA 5 or Arkham Origins - Both have really strong cases - GTA for the storyline and cut scenes, and the fact it actually lived up to the hype (not typically a GTA fan). AO for the combat, the puzzles, the voice acting, for being Batman.... all sorts
Lets hope 2014s games live up to their hype
As things stand, it's probably Spec Ops: The Line, but that's a 2012 release. I'd go further than just this year though - it's one of the most interesting games ever released.
I'm pretty sure that the only 2013 releases I've played are Rome 2, which was atrocious, and FM14, which is solid as always, so not much to say on that front.
Divine Divinity, I know it's an old game but a very good one.
Had a good time playing Skyrim, as well as Batman Arkham City and the first one (name escapes me).
XBOX Live - Sheep Sardine | Origin - MrRockliffe | Steam - MrRockliffe |
