Re: News - Nvidia Tegra K1 brings Kepler GPU architecture to mobile
So nvidia are claiming it's a triumph that their latest mobile chip is faster than a device which went on sale more than 8 years ago? And we can't actually buy devices with K1 yet, so it's going to be 8.5 - 9 years by the time it's in the market? I'm not seeing the big wow there - it's about a 30% power reduction per year, or 40% per 18 months (the usual Moore's Law period). This is about the time I'd expect to get a mobile chip at that performance level.
It'd also be interesting to see what the 4W Mullins quad cores can do in comparison - I think AMD might already be there...
Re: News - Nvidia Tegra K1 brings Kepler GPU architecture to mobile
Nvidia are certainly very skilled with Powerpoint.
But so far they've not been executing on all cylinders with Tegra. No wonder they're rebranding it as the K series, to move away from the old numbering scheme.
But they need people to use them in their designs, Powerpoint slides don't bring in money.

Interesting but I'd rather see it live than Unreal tech demos and power point slides, tech demos are so rarely representative of the final product.
Re: News - Nvidia Tegra K1 brings Kepler GPU architecture to mobile
Does a phone/tablet Nvidia Tegra K1 suffer from too much heat when used a lot? I've heard some stories about it, not sure if it's true or not.

Ohh well, let's just wait for the actual thing.
