I'm 100% AMD at the moment too - maybe they need to give us few AMD CPU users a bonus too?

But I thought there were restrictions about the "Gaming Evolved" app, i.e. didn't work with some of the older kit? If not, then I'll be downloading and installing it tonight - stuff for doing things I do anyway seems reasonable, although I have slight doubts if GE will "play nice" with all the stuff you have to have running for the likes of BF4 or CoD.

Bah, the way companies these days use the term "sweep stake" realy bothers me. A sweep stake is where participants pay in to enter and the winner(s) win the money payed in by the participants. Though the term regularly gets used for a lottery or raffle type competition where the participants have no stake in the prize(s).

I joined up with this when it was in Beta and I was running my HD6990, shortly after joining it I got rid of my HD6990 and got my GTX780Ti instead but I am still able to earn points when I play games, however it takes a long time to earn any points and even the cheapest of prizes to claim seem to require so many points that I have a feeling they will no longer be available at the time that I have enough points to get them.

I'm all AMD at the moment and like Crossy thought there were HW restrictions to this but if KeyBoardDemon's 6990 worked with it then I can see no reason why my 7970 shouldn't.

I got in at beta with this. you needed an amd gfx card or apu to use it. Tbh i just used it to track my gaming hours and for their fast optimising of games for your card. (they are still adding game profiles)

the points/games is just a nice bonus.

CPU usage on an FX-6350 (just having the client open) is hovering around 4%, but memory footprint is a megre 40Mb

However, looking at the possible rewards, it's barely worth it, most of the "rewards" are a chance to enter a competition with less chance of winning than the National Lottery jackpot. The serious rewards will take approximately 6 years to earn unless you spam the crap out of their forums.

Was hoping there was actually some rewards on offer for having purchased AMD products (having missed out on the Radeon rewards), but beyond keeping the driver updated, there's no bonuses.

On the plus side, there's a permanent delete function

Not if you're a serious gamer, which in this case you'll get your hardware in roughly 6 months.

Well I installed the Gaming Evolved app last night. First impressions were quite good - it picked up pretty much every game that I have installed (including a load that I'd forgotten about - oops!) although most were in the "there is insufficient community feedback for this title" bunch.

Picked a random title - SRIV - and it suggested a single configuration change, but with an upgrade to Catalyst 13.12 first. Ran the AMD auto-detect app which confirmed that my "R9 2xx" (wtf - I've only got a 7970) would benefit from that 13.12 driver. Driver downloaded and installed fine apart from hosing my notifications area - which a quick reboot sorted.

Games played fine, and the Raptr-based communities look pretty vibrant. There's a (mainly) interesting discussion going on about the merits of BF3 v's BF4 which I joined in. Amazing how you can get 50 points here, 20 points there, without really having to task yourself overly much.

Strangely enough the GE app is recommending that I boost my settings (this is in the default "Quality" mode) whereas I thought I'd got a fairly reasonable set of settings - especially for Sleeping Dogs, where I actually spent 30-45 minutes tweaking and rerunning the benchmark suite to get a good look with decent FPS results.

As far as I can tell the suggestions that GE come up with are based on a database of what settings others are using. I think it will make suggestions based on stats and probability and not some advanced analysis of your PC or through some AI/machine learning algorithms, it is great if you just want a one button quick fix to set you up but I think tweaking to meet personal tastes will always be better. There's a similar feature with nVidia cards as well which I think works in a similar fashion.
