not a fan .. but some deals overclockers have are bordering on crazy ..
will be great to see newegg hope they have the same returns policy as the states ..
What does it matter now if men believe or no?
What is to come will come. And soon you too will stand aside,
To murmur in pity that my words were true

I agree, but i have to say... some of these uk companies RMA service is bad&pretty much forces me to use Amazon with how much better the returns policy is. If the uk companies had a better returns service i would use them, but with reading so much from *various* companies my first port of call is Amazon.

Newegg could be good, but i have read recently that they too have been not great on either RMA's or *some* pricing.

Do you reckon that they'll have similar/competitive prices to Scan as I'm wondering about buying a new PC from scan and I don't know whether to hold back and wait for Newegg to arrive

Why does it matter where the business is from if they are providing jobs in the UK?

Taking away nationalism for a second, it really means very little. We live in a world where huge amounts of business is on the global scale. Heck, most of the parts we buy are shipped from the east, often made by people in conditions that are a disgrace.

Companies like scan, aria, MD, maybe not OC anymore but they are all registered in huge uk, so the money isn't funnelled into offshore, which means it stays in the uk economy, even if it is just for one extra purchase. Better for the country overall I'd say.

This is good news but not before time - let's hope it's been worth the [long] wait.

I've always been envious reading of Americans being able to buy their PC stuff considerably cheaper than we can, so it'll be interesting to see if those discounts make it to the UK, or whether the typical "$1=£1", which we're accustomed to in the UK, persists.

Last time I saw comment on this, the spokesdroid was saying that we've got import duties, business rates and sales tax (VAT) to account for on bricks 'n' mortar outfits. Plus the US is a bigger market so economies of scale/bulk buy discounts apply.

Then again, I know the US has state sales taxes, I assume some form of import duties and office tax - so surely that needs to be factored in. And as for the economies of scale argument - yes, there's a deal of truth to that, but then again I'd argue that we've got a higher overall population density, so you spend less in delivery charges, plus can serve the same number of people with less stores.

Looking forward for this. We will see more competition on the market, which is good because other stores will do some bargains or good deals more often than now.

Newegg are now shipping to the UK it seems. Goods are shipped from the good ole' USA and you pay duty/tax up front to them ...

Not sure if they still plan to have a UK chain with local distribution or if this is it??

Any idea how their UK prices compare with existing UK shippers, out of interest?
