Considering sales of Wii compared to Wii-U......I see a lot of angry people on the horizon.
This seems even lower than the GT5 fiasco.

And there is the reason. Force people to spend more moneys. Thanks Nintendo. Glad I don't own anything related to you. With sequels to Mario Kart and Smash Bros Brawl due out this year on the Wii U, users who are intent on multiplayer online action will be forced to buy the new games/consoles following the shut down.
They are that desperate to try and force people to the wii-u? urgh nintendo, what a huge mistake
I'm going to miss online mario kart sessions, this is one of the craziest moves Nintendo have made. I presume this also affects the virtual wii available on the wii-u? Thats what makes this even stranger.
Yes I agree, this seems like just a way to force people to upgrade, but I think Nintendo have made a mistake here.
Jon
Just wait till all games are digital and they just take them off you after 3 years. Already happened with one game on steam
Never used any online features on the Wii, shame as it was the only console I had with WiFi
