I think the first picture is misleading as it won't have all those highlighted lines around them, as the later pictures show. I like it and this is the kind of innovative thinking that we need.

Who needs to buy a TV again with this, could be interesting if it ever comes to market.

That tabletop display one isn't going to be much good if the projector is overhead. If only Microsoft had something that could display images from below. I bet that would sell like hot cakes! :-D

You mean something like:

Image came from "Is 'Hawaii 5-0' one long Microsoft commercial?".
According to the reports I've seen, if you watch Five-O then you'll see this in use. Apparently it's $15,000 worth of something called Microsoft Surface - not to be confused with the tablets of the same name. I love the way that they're able to "throw" images from the "table" to the (TV?) screen. Would be neat if you can do something similar with SurroundWeb.
EDIT: Found this video on YouTube, (skip the first 90 seconds - it's just chat). I used a Google search for "microsoft surface table -tablet ", (if you don't exclude "tablet" then you'll get pages and pages of unrelated stuff) and got a load of useful hits. Yes, I know I should have used Bing, but life's too short. :p

@crossy: That's the one. I've seen it on a couple of TV shows. I was being faux naive and ironic but trying not to give that away. ;-) ... $15,000. Yes, the Surface is so expensive that they can only sell fictional versions to police, forensic and intelligence service departments that have an unlimited budget for toys. ;o)
I guess Microsoft must have given up on it given how by adding a 't' to the table (so, confusingly, they've got the same name) they've made it instantly 1/40th of the price, weight and impressiveness.
Thanks for sourcing the image. Good choice. Shame about there being too much towel. :-D
