4K = digital cinema. Unless you're handling HD-SDI on a regular basis, you're probably never going to touch a desktop 4K display.
UHD = consumer displays, 1920x1080 * 4 = 3840x2160.
3K = complete guff some marketing weenie came up with.
Please don't aid & abet the marketing weenies in adding further confusion to the sillyness that already surrounds 4K and UHD.

GREAT IDEA! Why? Because finally we would have a way of using a tablet as a substitute for textbooks and magazines. With the higher resolution and the large size, the textbooks tiny print of a picture's caption will be readable. Smaller tablets, e-readers and low resolution monitors just cannot hack trying to read a PDF file of a magazine without using large blow ups of the page, with all the scrolling that entails.
Gimme. I love technology. Can't afford it though!!
