Hmmm, now all the 3 big browsers sync across platforms......when will they sync with each other?
What he really means is that he saw android devices running chromesync and thought windows needs a piece of that pie.Quote:
"We've heard that people browse the Web on many devices, switching between their laptop, tablet, and phone throughout the day," Sam George, Microsoft's Internet Explorer partner group program manager wrote in a blog post. "Today's update to IE11 means that whatever device you pick up, your tabs and favourites are there for you, right where you left off."
Great for work environemnts where Intranet pages have problems
Well that took a while to happen, especially given that with a Microsoft account Windows 8 can sync all your desktop settings etc. Crucial part of an "ecosystem" to make it worth while having a Windows everything, shame of course for Microsoft that Chrome Sync already works so well between Windows and Android...
Sync across platforms is good
I do like the improvements IE has been making. Hoping they might open source it. Microsoft seem to be changing their views when it comes to open sources software / hardware.
Enterprise mode look like it could come in handy.
Will have to give it a demo and see how it works.
"Will" be .... or "can" be?Quote:
Furthermore, all your tabs will now be synced between devices via a Microsoft account and OneDrive.
Personally, I DO NOT want MS, or any other company, keeping records of what my "favourites", or tabs, are, and syncing. It's none of their business. Of course, lots of people will like this, and like being "synced", but anything I want set, or synced, I'll set of sync myself.
So .... is this something that can be turned on, or off, under user control?
Personally, I don't even want an MS account, any more than I want a Google one, never mind syncing (hence using W8 in "Local Account" mode, when I have W8 running).
It's a can!
One of the nice things about the new Cortana thing, is unlike Google Now, it asks you how much information you want to share with it.
