I would have thought that the humble bundle has had an effect on this but so many of them are Valve titles or games based on Valves source engine....

I probably have at least 10 games in my steam library I have never played....oddly not one of them from that list!

66 owned, 55 not played. Probably about 40 of them I have no intention of ever playing!

I can honestly say I've played 100% of my Steam games, which is also to say I've played 0%.

The percentage of my games which are Steam, however, is 0%.

I've only a few I don't play like Starwars KOTOR, Terraria I played for a few days and got bored, Songs2See I'm not advanced enough on my Uke yet to play the game.

Then there are games like all the HL2 games which i've completed a few times over but before steam started recording what we do.

Saint's Row 3 and Red Faction Armageddon, I've only setup and played with for a couple hours as I like to have a few games set aside for a rainy day.

Also I don't game all the time sometimes a month or two can pass without me wanting to play and i just watch movies in my spare time. And that works the other way too, sometimes I'll start playing games again because i'm bored of watching movies and tv shows.

Err... Under *which* rock have these people been hiding, exactly? Until quite recently, it's been ****ing down, to the point where loads of folk are getting flooded... I'm about the only one with an excuse for not staying in and playing, as I'm the one out fixing the floods!


Why do they keep doing this, publishing stats on how none of us Steamers play our games, complete our games or even buy enough of the right titles?
Are they trying to guilt-trip us into more gaming??!!

I feel like I should be apologising to Steam, or something...

I'm waiting to finish Borderlands 1 before starting on 2 and I will get around to Portal shortly. Completed DA:O all in one, working on Skyrim, haven't fnished AC:III yet, don't own the rest... I'm very very sorry, Steam.

Well in that case you might as well wait until the new game is out and complete it before starting 2 as its basically BL 1.5! :)

I've got masses sitting on Steam, many of which I've never even heard of. I guess they must've been in bundles.

The problem is that for the vast majority, when I actually get around to trying them out, they really, really suck. That puts me off going through the catalogue really, so I end up buying a new game, playing it to completion, and then buying another.

As for how long that trend will continue - well, I've got a growing wishlist of 30 games... in short, there are far more games than I have time to play them in.

The trading cards have got me trying a lot of games I wouldn't normally bother trying and I've actually found a few I've liked!

Basically if they still have cards to drop I'll boot up the game and play until I've got my drops, if the game is good it will keep me there longer, if it REALLY sucks then I'll alt-tab out until I've got my drops :P

Humble Bundle is the main reason I have so many games sitting in my Steam library that are unplayed, but I don't feel guilty about when you pay £5 for about 6 or 7 games and the cash goes to charity you are bound to have titles that just sit there.. I might play them one day but only after I've played the games I really want to first.

Bundles are indeed the culprit, I'm sure I added my own contribution there to the "bought but not played" pack by purchasing a pack of the X series from Egosoft.

I got it for X3 Albion Prelude since the pack that bundled that with all the previous games (X3 Terran Conflict, X3 Reunion, X2 The Threat, and the original X) was 75% off at the time. I only played the one I actually wanted though.

I'm surprised I have as many as 10 unplayed games, tbh. I try to be fairly sparing in what I buy. That said, I reckon I picked up a couple of bundles in a Steam sale a couple of years back, so there's a reasonabel chance those 10 games only represent a few purchases....

EDIT: on checking, there's also 2 games on there that I know I've played but that haven't logged any play time, so it's only 8 I've not played at all... ;)
