I would struggle trying to cope with such a slow internet connection. I can't get fiber in my area yet, but I'd be happy with around 30/10Mbps (mainly lacking in the upload speeds currently on ADSL)

That slow street is not far from where I live. Most of my county doesn't have fibre, I live in a fairly big town and there are small villages either side of me that have fibre. Very annoying, and no plans for me until at least 2015.

I do get "Up to 20Mb" here, but since changing my broadband from a normal to a "combined phone and broadband" package - with the same ISP - I've lost about a quarter of my top speed. Think I'm getting 9-10Mbps at the moment.

Feel quite good looking at their post code checker, no one around me is getting as fast as me. But I guess its not because they can't but because they don't want to pay to get those speeds. (80/20 for me).

1.5 here, with an exchange already dishing out fibre, but no availability for our cabinet, it seems and no plans for it ever, either.

On 120mb (which sits at about 109mb most of the time) here in Hertford. Parents in Shrewsbury are stuck on a "up to 20mb" line that only gives them about 3mb at the best of times.

That said, I'm pretty sure that my connection speed is being throttled by my LAN connections - need to get those Gigabit connections plumbed in.

Maybe it's idle Friday curiosity but I'd be fascinated to see what speeds those in the "slow connection" list could get if they used mobile networks.

This is hardly surprising. The availability of fast broadband is complete pot-luck, based on BTs "commercial factors" and whether the street has been set up for cable TV. I doubt that 73% of the people can get super fast broadband. At a stretch, I'd guess that 73% of exchanges might have a fiber option, and getting that to your cabinet if it's not there already is next to impossible.

Funny how 10 years ago 0.6MBit would of been considered above average, as the majority of adsl connections were 512kbit back then!

get about 3.1mb in rural Devon, 2 minutes down the road that doubles, 5 minutes down the road they get 30mb....how i hate signal degradation!

So with results like that I'd say at 0.6mbps that's probably a common speed here in The Philippines. It just says 1Mbps but it's actually slower most of the time.

Having an unlimited connection of 10Mbps costs about 80EUR here which is totally expensive for that sort of connection speed. These "service" providers are cashing in around here.
In fact if someone out there who is capable of starting a broadband company should invest here, you'd definitely beat competition then gaining more customers and most importantly, you get all that cash
So calling all incorporators out there, if you want to be even more rich then come start your own broadband company here haha

hmm must be in one of the top streets with 76mb that's ee ..but how do they work it with virgin ? 130mb one min then 3mb the next depending on what and how much you have downloaded .. must take an avrg ...
