The gold colour scheme has put me off the next wave of asus boards but it doesn't look so bad on this board, it may just be the light in the photos but it seems like a richer colour here.

    Re: Previews - Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H

The new MSI boards will actually have black PCB's as well, instead of using rather dubious lighting in the promotional shots of their Z87 boards to give the impression they were black when they were actually a dark brown..YUK!!!

I bet a few people trying to build colour matched rigs got a nasty surprise when they opened them up for the first time..

Didn't realize SATAe would take 2 existing SATA ports, I thought it was to complement them.

As a storage enthusiast I'd rather have 2 devices than 1 fast one

    Re: Previews - Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H

Was going to get Z87X-UD4H for my new build. I might wait with the new build for z97x ud4h. Hope gigabyte won't change the colour from red to gold one on this board.

The sooner we switch to PCIe SSDs, the better! SATA Express seems like a bit of a stopgap.

    Re: Previews - Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H

And let me guess the new motherboards still capped at max 32GB memory
If that's the case i will change brands later , don't get me wrong , MSI and gigabyte aren't bad brands at all , but seems everytime i build a system i miss the little things i realy want.
Hopefully somewhere soon there will be a new 128Gb version of one of these.

    Re: Previews - Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H

Other than the gold (yellow) heat spreaders, it looks identical to all the other UD5H boards, including my Z77 UD5H, except that my mb has a MicroSSD socket where the M2 slot is on this board.
I guess it is a "why mess with a good thing" issue.
