It certainly puts my original htc desire to shame ! maybe I should think about picking one of these up in a few months when they hopefully drop a bit in price.

The Moto E looks like a great buy for the money. I'm sure it will sell incredibly well!
It's similar to my Desire HD in spec but that was around £400 at release, slightly smaller screen and only a single core.

I was looking at the original moto G but the lack of Micro-SD slot put me off.
The 4G Moto G will be equipped with a Micro-SD slot and said to be priced around £150 so that's likely my next phone should mine die!

Luckily the Snapdragon 200 it uses is one of the A7 based designs (I think) rather than A5 and overall it's close to the HTC Sensation (from 2011) spec, the only things that ruined that handset were 1GB built-in storage and only having 768MB RAM with the memory hogging Sense. 1GB RAM and no Sense should would have ticked along nicely and 4GB storage in the E is enough for most people's app needs with media on an SD card.

    For £89 it's a steal.

Re: News - Motorola launches Moto E

If I'm honest that £89 price seems a little expensive for the Moto E considering the price of the Moto G.

I bought the moto G and although 4G and micro SD are nice add ons they're not really that much of a reason to change it, I don't even get decent 3g where I live (it's the networks being cheap/lazy) and I'm a long way off filling my 16GB of storage so the micro SD would be a waste too.

    "Made to last,"
So I take it that the battery is easily removable.

Have you thoroughly tested the Bluetooth and GPS yet? I assume you paid a lot less than £89

I've still got mine on my desk, next to the Nexus 4 with a broken screen...

Keep meaning to install a working/updated ROM on it, it's been a while!

Lower res and slightly smaller screen than the G, though.

    Slower SOC too.

It appears that the Moto E probably will replace the Moto G 3G 8GB at the lower price point, meaning the Moto G LTE is replacing the more expensive Moto G 3G 16GB,while reducing the onboard storage to 8GB.

It also seems that the microSD card slot and LTE functionality were already there in the first Moto G, and have been enabled for the "new" more expensive version.

Re: News - Motorola launches Moto E

Does seem a bit expensive considering the fact you can get a moto g for £10 more but I do give credit to Motorola... The moto g is an amazing phone, my sisters phone broke and she didn't want anything expensive so I got her a moto g, including top cashbook and redemption (10 successful redemption contracts thus far) it works out as £5.5 a month for 24 months (she doesn't change phone often) with 600 minutes unlimited texts and 250mb data(she tends to use Wifi, will cost about the same as a moto g right now but free line rental... She was paying 7.50 for less minutes at giffgaff haha.

Anyways after setting up the phone I was impressed with the build quality, would happily run that as my daily phone for the price, a small but lovely touch is the Motorola logo is recessed and allows your fingertip to sit in it enhancing grip.

Keep it up Motorola but this phone needs to be £20 less imo.
