Does the latest mini distil the HTC One (M8)'s best qualities into a more compact design?

So halved the specs to reduce the size. Shame.
Looks like the Z1 Compact is still the only one that has managed to keep the specs of its bigger brother when getting reduced.

Intrigued that the HTC One mini 2 has a 4.5" screen - hardly small, is it....? ;)
Re: News - HTC One mini 2 launched, specs compared to the HTC One (M8)
I dont think HTC quite understand what people want....
They essentially turned a high spec, top class phone with great features into a slightly smaller average spec phone with typical features.
Z1c is still definitely the better buy.
Im not touching another phone that has sense, touchwiz or any of that nonsense on it either. It needs to be as close as possible to stock for me to be interested.

Not really an improvement on the moto G from my understanding of the specs (Same snapdragon 400 for example). Im not really a betting man but I'd wager this will cost a lot more than a moto G...

Big mistake to reduce the Ram from 2 to 1GB

Think he was talking about sub 5inch devices as we are mentioning the new HTC and Z1c.
If they did a 4-4.5inch Nexus I'm sure it would fill the requirements perfectly but alas they have not.
Re: News - HTC One mini 2 launched, specs compared to the HTC One (M8)
Is it so hard to put good specs in a 4.5 inch form factor?!? For goodness sake HTC, stop following the bigger is better trend and make something innovative. The same goes to every else too (except Sony, but they replace their phones every 6 months..). Please please please can we have a 4.5 inch phone with 720p, good camera, good build, which is also quick. PLEASE.

I'll stick with my HTX One X. Running Kitkat happily and aside from the camera there's no appreciable upgrade going to a One M8 imo.
Sure the spec is higher but if they both run kitkat just as smoothly who cares, I'll save my ££ thanks.
Re: News - HTC One mini 2 launched, specs compared to the HTC One (M8)
Camera is worse on an M8.
Re: News - HTC One mini 2 launched, specs compared to the HTC One (M8)
One x is a joke . battery life is poor
Re: News - HTC One mini 2 launched, specs compared to the HTC One (M8)
I would argue that Sony and Motorola's implementations, whilst not quite stock, are close enough. My Toshiba tablet aswell, thats pretty light on the skins front.
I have no problems with 'light touch' OS's but Sense and Touchwiz are just unnecessarily bloaty. If you have stock Kit Kat, you dont need a 2.3GHz quad core Snapdragon with loads of RAM.

Thats the one big spec drop - 1gb is entry level and this won't be priced at entry level.
