Can't wait for this!!!
UPlay :(
Got to love it when bits are cut out of a game for \'limited editions\'
far cry 3 was great!
I\'m disappointed with the last-gen releases. The quality of the graphics/framerate gain a larger boost on the next gen consoles if developers don\'t have to work on last-gen. For that reason, I\'ll be purchasing it on PC, but I remember how Far Cry 3 was taxing on PC, I hope the optimization is better this time around.
Expecting so much from FarCry4.
FarCry3 was just awesome. One of the best games i played since i build my new PC.
I'd go further - the need for uPlay on the PC is the best argument for console gaming. I really hate that piece of software - thinking it worse (by far) than the much-maligned Origin.
Haven't tried Far Cry 3 on my PC (got it free from AMD) but the XBox360 version was pretty good - I really must get around to finishing it sometime, just got to South Island...
Far Cry 4? Hmm, see if there's any deals going, but I think I'll give this "Special Edition" a miss - too expensive.
Am I right in thinking that you can buy FC3 on the Origin store?
The Origin store isn't 'bad' per se, it's just the fact that 'it's another store', and I would much rather have all my games in one place; Steam.
You can always find Ubisoft games for PC on the cheap on Ebay, people who get the codes from buying graphics card tend to sell it there.
I hope they include a certain really big mountain in all its glorious detail. would be quite fun to hang glide off the top of it, or to try and drive up it in completely inappropriate vehicles (then hurtle them off the top).
main hope is that they include certain black and white, Asian, fuzzy faced, bear like animals that you can hunt. always wanted to shoot one in the face with a shotgun :p
*Everest and pandas if you haven't guessed already ;)
Sorry, no. I thought FC3 was only on uPlay, but apparently it's also available on Steam. Oh, and I've got nothing but acid-dripping contempt for the "support" folks on the uPlay store since they were "unable" to let me reclaim a free copy of HAWX2 that I got as a code with my previous graphics card.
So, if you want FC3, then I'd really recommend you do it via Steam and avoid uPlay if at all possible.
Not sure about the hang glide bit, but if sky diving will do then I'd recommend Just Cause 2 - once you've levelled up things can get seriously crazy (hence the long play stats for me).
I'm currently playing through Far Cry 3 for the first time & and I am loving most things, though there are a couple of physics/AI bugs, but these do not detract from what is a very enjoyable and at times a hillarious game.
If the next installment is anything close to this, I would be a very happy person.
Looks interesting, I've actually been trekking up to Everest base camp (via Lukla, Nepal) in the past, so this will be bring back some memories! I'm still playing the single player story on Far Cry 3 on the 360, so I'd better get stuck in. I actually quite liked Far Cry 2 on the 360 as well, it was a bit of rough diamond but enjoyable. I'll probably either go "next gen" or PC for FC4, as I think it's time to move on gaming platform wise.
Not strictly true - at least, not with my Steam version of FC3.
The process is:
Buy FC3 on Steam
Download FC3 on Steam
Steam installs uPlay
Select FC3 in Steam, and click "Play"
Steam loads up uPlay
uPlay checks for updates.
Select FC3 in uPlay, and click "Play".
Yes, really.
Yup, just like GFWL games used to do with steam.......double logins, double content delivery systems.....
That's strange. Rocksmith2014 is also a uPlay-enabled title and while it still does the "load uPlay" trick, if you've selected it in Steam then uPlay loads (relatively) quietly in the background. I certainly don't have to enter uPlay and select RS2014 again. You can also do it the other way - fire up uPlay (then wait for five minutes while it decides whether to update or not) then launch the game and Steam fires up quietly in the background.
Good thing about buying uPlay titles via Steam is at least you're spared the uPlay purchasing process.
